Earn SB with Swagbucks by scanning your shopping receipts – coming soon!

Loads of our Facebook Group members love scanning receipts to earn points that can be changed into giftcards, so you will be thrilled to hear that the most popular site in our group, Swagbucks, is bringing this functionality to the UK in late Spring!

This ability has been available to US members for a while, so it’s good to know we’re getting it over here soon.

How will receipt scanning with Swagbucks work in the UK?

As far as we can tell, they’ll initially be rolling this out through the ‘Answer’ app (search your app store if you don’t have it already).

It looks as if you will be able to add 10 receipts a week, and the receipts have to be up to 10 days old.

Which stores will we be able to scan receipts for?

No word on this in the UK, but in the US it looks as if you can scan receipts for all of the stores Swagbucks provide giftcards for, plus a whole lot more!

Want to influence the stores who’s receipts you can get rewards for? Comment below with the stores you would like to see (comment here, not in the Facebook group, so we can show Swagbucks what you guys want!)

How many SB will we get for each receipt?

Currently we don’t know – but it seems that in the US they get between 1 and 5SB per receipt, with special deals on some stores for limited times. For example, currently submitting a Best Buy receipt in the US will get you 50SB!

Why should I bother? It seems like a lot of hassle!

Agreed, and I’m the first to say I don’t like receipt scanning apps, but as well as the SB towards your daily goals, and some of them possibly being worth more than surveys, Swagbucks say:

When you share receipts, you significantly improve your chances of qualifying for more surveys — if we know you’ve visited a particular store or restaurant, we can target relevant surveys to you and give you the opportunity to share your opinions on your shopping and dining experiences!

So that’s good enough for me to at least give it a try!

Tell us in the comments below which stores you would like to see in the list of eligible receipt scanning!
